6th July, 2010 - No Nonsense Practice Finance seminar
A guaranteed no jargon presentation by Healthcare Management Specialist, Deana Scott-Thomas. This session has been designed to provide staff with practical guidelines for understanding and managing front desk finances, back office bookkeeping; management reporting, fraud detection and debt collection.
The session will cover fundamental issues such as how modest errors on the front desk can flow through and effect tax paid, laws governing debt collection, simple fraud detection strategies or working out if it worth buying that new piece of equipment. You will leave with a checklist of items to review in your practice.

Queensland Medical Women's Society - Welcome to New Doctors - 15th December 2009
The Welcome for New Doctors evening is an annual event that allows new doctors to hear from four established doctors at various stages in their career, about life after graduation.
Deana and Leona attended the event and answered questions about starting and mainting a private practice. Virtual Medical Office is the major sponsor for this event.

AMA NSW Starting & Working in Private Practice - 7th November 2009
VMO was a recently a sponsor for the AMA NSW Starting in Private Practice Workshop. This workshop provided over 100 attendees the option to hear industry experienced speakers impart some critical knowledge for new to private practice professionals. A very informative day was closed by Dr Andrew Zuschmann (Obsetrician & Gynaecologist and AMA (NSW) Committe Member) who shared some of his experiences in setting up practice.

AMAQ Starting & Working in Private Practice - 24th October 2009
The Starting in Private Practice event puts doctors looking to begin their private practice in touch with organisations and individuals who can assist and support with the transition. Around 70 GPs and Specialist attended the event held at Rydges at Southbank. Some topics discussed in the morning session were Business Structures, Insurance Requirements, Personal and Business Finance and Practice Setup.
In the afternoon, Deana Scott from Virtual Medical Office facilitated a workshop whereby participants worked through key issues involved including: Establishing the Practice, Workplace Environmment, Medical Records and Financial Matters.
